Faith, Trust, and Believing — Why They Matter More Than You Know

Let me be honest with you today.

There have been seasons in my life where I did not know how I was going to make it. Seasons where life felt like it was going up and then crashing back down. Seasons where the weight of everything pressing in felt heavier than I could carry. Seasons where I looked around at my circumstances and thought — this is too much. I cannot do this.

And in every single one of those moments — God came through.

Every. Single. One.

That is not a motivational statement. That is my testimony. And if you have been walking with Jesus for any length of time, I believe it is yours too.

So today I want to talk about three things that have held me together through every storm, every valley, and every moment I thought I would not survive — Faith. Trust. And Believing.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
— Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB

Notice what Solomon does not say. He does not say trust God when things are going well. He does not say trust Him when you can see the path clearly. He says trust Him with all your heart — and specifically — do not lean on your own understanding.

Because here is the truth friend. Our understanding is limited. Our perspective is narrow. We see the moment we are standing in. God sees the entire story He is writing.

Faith is not the absence of fear. It is the decision to take the next step anyway — believing that the God who created you has not forgotten you. Faith says "I cannot see the way but I trust the One who does."

Trust is what happens when faith gets tested. It is easy to say we trust God when life is comfortable. But real trust is forged in the fire — in the moments when nothing makes sense, when the answer has not come, when the waiting feels unbearable. Trust says "even if I do not understand this, I know who holds me."

Believing is the anchor that holds faith and trust together. It is the deep, unshakeable conviction that God is who He says He is — that His Word is true, His promises are real, and that He is working even when we cannot see it. Believing says "He came through before and He will come through again."

Friend, I do not know what season you are walking through today. Maybe life feels like it is going up and you are finally catching your breath. Or maybe you are in one of those down seasons where you are wondering how you are going to make it.

Can I tell you something? You are going to make it.

Not because life will suddenly get easy. But because the God who has never once failed you is not about to start now. He came through in every hard moment of my life — and He will come through in yours.

Choose faith today. Choose trust today. Choose to believe — even when everything around you is telling you not to.

He is worth it. And so are you. 💛

Today's Reflection: Think of one moment in your life where God came through when you thought He wouldn't. Write it down. Let it be your reminder today that He has never once let you go. 🙏
