Have you ever looked at the world around you and thought — what is happening?
Violence in our streets. Families torn apart. Truth twisted until it's unrecognizable. Things that were once called wrong are now celebrated, and things that were once called right are now mocked. And sometimes, if we're honest, we wonder — is it always going to be this way?
The answer, beloved, is not found in the news. It's found in the Word of God.
Paul saw it coming.
In 1 Timothy 1:9-10, Paul writes that the law was not made for the righteous, but for the lawless and rebellious — for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers.
Read that list slowly. Does any of it sound familiar?
It should. Because Paul wasn't just describing his world — he was describing every generation that turns away from God. And Romans 1:18 tells us exactly why: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness."
They suppress the truth. They don't just reject it — they sit on it. They know it's there, and they push it down.
That is the world we are living in today.
But here is what I want you to hear, sister.
You are not of that world.
You are a woman who opens her Bible. You are a woman who gets on her knees. You are a woman who, even on the hard days, chooses to walk with God rather than walk away from Him. And that matters more than you know.
Paul's list in 1 Timothy 1 is not written to frighten you — it's written to remind you that there is a difference between darkness and light. And you, beloved, are called to be the light.
The world around us may be growing darker. But a candle doesn't dim because the room gets dark — it shines brighter.
So what does righteous living look like in a world like this?
It looks like truth-telling when everyone around you is spinning the story.
It looks like faithfulness in your home when the culture tells you family doesn't matter.
It looks like guarding what you watch, what you listen to, and who you listen to — because false teaching doesn't always come with a warning label.
It looks like loving people boldly — not by agreeing with everything, but by pointing them gently and consistently back to Christ.
It is not easy. But it is holy. And it is exactly what God has called you to.
Don't grow weary, sweet sister.
The world has always needed women who refuse to suppress the truth. Women who will stand firm, love well, and keep walking — even when the road feels dark and the voices grow loud.
That is you.
"The law is not laid down for the just — but you, beloved, are walking in the gospel of the glory of the blessed God."
(1 Timothy 1:9-11, paraphrased)
Keep going. Keep shining. The world needs your light.
-Rebecca
